Vivi Alfonsín is a Cuban writer, migrant, and anti-racist activist. Through literature, her work proposes a feminist critique against racism and the structures of coloniality. Author of the novels Mundo Zurdo and Ningún otro infierno te espera, and the plays Kleopatra o Infirmitas Sexus and Aguas Grises, she has also published short narrative and literary analysis. In recent years, she has been part of Regularización Ya, a struggle for regularization of migrant people in Spain. In addition to her literary work, she has written different texts on violence against racialized people and those in migratory transit, asylum seekers, or refugees. In parallel, Vivi Alfonsín is part of an artistic ensemble working with incarcerated women in Catalonia, running theatre and writing workshops as a necessary step for their cultural and political rights. They are currently working in a collective creation play about sexual and reproductive rights for women in prison.
